IPL

The Indian Primer League is an International T-twenty league contested every year. The Board of Control of Cricket founded the league. Lalit Modi is the founder and former commissioner of the league. It is of the most attended league in the world. Furthermore, the 2015 IPL season contributed US$182 Million to the Indian economy.  Seven IPL tournaments held successfully. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians ate the most successful and popular teams of the league. In addition,  both teams won three championships each.

Foundation

IPL was founded in 2017. The first season was held in April 2008.  BCCI vise president is the mastermind of IPL. A seven-man governing council composed of former Indian players and BBCI officials run the league. The franchises based in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mohali and Mumbai. Also, The Board sold the franchises for total US4723.59 Million.

League Format

There are eight teams and each team play each other twice, and Top four teams qualify for the playoffs. In the qualifying match, top two teams play against each other and winner goes straight to the IPL final. In second qualifying match, the loser team gets a chance to qualify for IPL final. Meanwhile, in the eliminator match, third and fourth position team from the table play against each other. The loser from first qualifying match plays with the second qualifying match winner and winner proceeds to the final. To Conclude, the winner crowned as the IPL champion.
