Chennai Super Kings started the preparations for Indian Premier League 2019 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The local cricketers joined the camp earlier this week in Chennai. Mahindra Singh Dhoni has arrived at the practice camp while he was arriving on Friday. The defending champions have practice in full swing a week ahead of the tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The skipper had arrived in Chennai along with his Indian & CSK teammates, Shardul Thakur & Kedar Jadhav. Jadhav posted a photo from their journey on Instagram. MS Dhoni has breakfast with the head coach Stephen Fleming. The Head Coach has been working with the three-time champions over the year, spotted to have flown to Chennai on Friday. Moreover, Chennai Super Kings posted a photograph of off-spinner Harbhajan Sigh arriving at the team hotel on Saturday.

The World Cup winner played a crucial role in the franchise’s title-winning campaign in season 2018. The CSK captain begun the Mega Event year with a smashing three back to back fifties in India ODI series win against Australia. The BCCI had rested the wicketkeeper-batsman for the two ODI of the recent five-match series against Australia at home. India lost the series, maybe because of his absence. The former Indian skipper is hoping to begin CSK title defense by taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.
Chennai is hosting the first Indian Premier League match since April 10, 2018. Chennai Super Kings only played one game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium last year. Their home matches moved out of the city following protests over Cauvery River dispute. The tickets sales for the IPL inaugural earlier today. Thousands of fans queued up to get their tickets for inaugural encounter outside the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
